MTN Fantasy Soccer Terms and Conditions

1 Introduction

1.1 MTN Fantasy League is a game in which contestants pick players from featured professional teams each match day, to build their own fantasy league team. Points are earned based on the actual performance of the players in real-world matches. Each team’s points are tracked on a leader board. The fantasy team with the most points on the final leader board wins.

1.2 MTN customers must subscribe to the Fantasy League ("the Service") during the Promotion Period to stand a chance to win daily prizes ("the Promotion").

2 Duration

2.1 The Promotion is available from 12 April 2018 and will continue until such a time that it is suspended or discontinued by MTN ("Promotion Period").

2.2 Notwithstanding the agreement Period, MTN may, in its sole and absolute discretion, amend the duration of the agreement Period to a shorter or longer period, or withdraw the agreement in its entirety, with notice to Customers. Visit www.mtn.co.za regularly for notices, updates and/or changes to services.

3 Who is Eligible?

3.1 To enter the Competition, the customers must meet the following criteria:

3.1.1 Be a natural person over the age of 18 (eighteen);

3.1.2 Be an MTN subscriber.

("Qualifying Participant").

3.2 You are excluded from participating in the Promotion if:

3.2.1 you are a director, member, partner, employee, agent or consultant to the Promoter/s or any marketing Promotion provider in respect of the promotional competition or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the Promoter/s or the spouse, life partner, parent, child, brother, sister, business partner or associate of such a person; or

3.2.2 it is not unlawful to supply the prize to you in terms of any legislation or public regulation and the Promoters reserve the right to require proof that it will not be unlawful to supply a prize.

4 How does the Service & Promotion work?

4.1 This Promotion consists of the following leagues:

4.1.1 South African Premier Soccer League;

4.1.2 South African MTN8;

4.1.3 South African Telkom Knockout;

4.1.4 South African Nedbank Cup;

4.1.5 English Premier League;

4.1.6 English FA Cup;

4.1.7 UEFA Champions League; and

4.1.8 UEFA Europa League

4.2 Customers must subscribe and play mobile games on their data-enabled handset or device or using the USSD platform. As such, Subscribers get access to daily fantasy leagues to play.

4.3 A subscriber may enter one fantasy team per competition

4.4 A fantasy team is eligible to compete in a daily competition only if their subscription was successfully billed on the day of the competition

4.5 Multi-match day competitions include the fantasy team’s points that competed in qualifying daily competitions only.

4.6 Teams must be entered anytime up to 1 minute before kick-of and an entered team cannot be cancelled once a team is entered, picked players cannot be substituted.

4.7 Point Scoring

4.7.1 Points are earned on the actual performances of the players in real-world matches. For a complete breakdown of the scoring visit: https://mtnfantasyleague.com/home/points

4.7.2 All statistics are supplied by STATS in accordance with its guidelines. Statistics are received in real time. Statistics provided by STATS are not amended in any way. However, STATS may change statistics which result in changes to scoring, so long as any statistic amendments are made before competitions are made official.

4.7.3 If a picked player does not play he earns zero points

4.7.4 If a match is postponed or stopped, it will be considered cancelled and your picked players will not score any points. The match day will otherwise continue as normal

4.8 Cancelled matches result in picked players not scoring any point

5 Subscribing

5.1 You may subscribe to the Service via www.mtnfantasyleague.com or dial *130*123#

5.2 Subscribe to the Service from a daily subscription fee of @R3.50 per day. The subscription is automatically renewed daily, subject to you having sufficient airtime.

6 Unsubscribing

6.1 Dial *123# and follow the prompts.

6.2 You will receive an SMS confirming that you have been unsubscribed from the Service.

7 Prizes

Each daily competition will offer a total prize pool of R5 000 airtime, as per the breakdown below:

In the event of ties, the tied teams split the total value of the prizes awarded for all the tied places. E.g. If two teams are tied for 1st place each team wins R925 airtime.

8 When will the Draw/s take Place?

8.1 Winners are determined by their team’s position on the competition's final leader board and this will take place when the Final results are confirmed +/- 60 minutes after the last match in the competition.

8.2 Prizes are usually paid within 2 working days after the competition's finish

9 Flashback

9.1 Flashback Fantasy competitions are same as Live Fantasy competitions but consist of real matches that were played in the past (Flashbacks).

9.2 How to Pay

9.2.1 Flashback competitions are run on a regular basis at the discretion of the operator

9.2.2 Flashback competitions are clearly indicated as Flashback Competitions on the service

9.2.3 Subscribers pick players from the real teams that played in each competition’s flashback matches

9.2.4 The teams included in each competition are displayed for upcoming competitions

9.2.5 The players available for selection are displayed for upcoming competitions

9.2.6 The actual flashback matches (team vs team) and match dates are revealed once the competition kicks-off

9.2.7 Every player’s past performance is reproduced by processing the data from each flashback match

9.2.9 Prizes are won based on the final leader board

9.3 Competitions

9.3.1 Competition consist of a combination of fixtures from different days, weeks and seasons.

9.3.2 All flashback matches kick-off at the competition start time.

9.3.3 All flashback matches run simultaneously .

9.3.4 All flashback matches run for the duration of the original match (90 mins plus stoppage time).

9.3.5 The competition leader board is updated in real-time (relative to the competition kick-off).

10 Mega Prize

10.1 Duration

10.1.1 Mega Prize Promotion will run from 01 December 2020 to 30 June 2021.

10.1.2 The Promoters reserve the right to withdraw the Promotion with fair notice given to you.

10.1.3 The Promoters reserve the right to shorten or extend the Promotion with fair notice given to you.

10.2 Eligibility

10.2.1 All active subscribers on the service can stand a chance to win their share of R100 000 (one hundred thousand Rands).

10.2.2 Active subscribers on the service will accumulate their points earned from competitions they participated in between December 2020 and June 2021 and; the subscribers with the top 3 points will win.

10.3 Prizes

10.3.1 The prizes for the Mega Prize are:

a) First place will win R50 000 (fifty thousand Rands).

b) Second place will win R30 000 (thirty thousand Rands).

c) Third place will win R20 000 (twenty thousand Rands).

10.3.2 In the event of a tie for a position, the prize money for the position will be split evenly between the winners.

10.3.3 The winners will be announced and contacted within 10 working days of the promotion end date.

10.3.4 In the event that a winner cannot be contacted within 10 working days from the promotion end date, the prize will be forfeited.

10.3.5 The winnings will be deposited into the winners MTN Momo account within 10 working days of the winner being contacted.

10.3.6 In the event that a winner does not have an active MTN MoMo account, the winner will be required to open an MTN MoMo account within 5 working days of being contacted. The winnings will be deposited into the winners MTN MoMo account within 10 days of the winner having opened the MTN MoMo account.

10.3.7 Where the winner fails to open an MTN MoMo account within 5 working days of being contacted, the winner will forfeit the prize.

10.3.8 The winner/s name, image and/or town/city may be published by the Promoter/s on their respective websites or on other media. The winner will not be paid for such use. The winner may always refuse to grant consent for the use of their name, likeness and/or image for this purpose.

10.3.9 Points 11.1 and 11.2 under general do not apply for the Mega Prize Promotion.

11 General

11.1 The promoters will attempt to contact winners for 2 (two) consecutive business days. In the event that a winner is not contactable, their prize will be forfeited.

11.2 The Promoter/s may ask personal information and request documentation for the depositing of the prize. If a winner is unable to provide such information or documentation within 2 (two) business days of this information being requested, their prize will be forfeited.

11.3 The Promoter/s are not responsible for:

a) the service being interrupted and/or failing for any reason or;

b) any interruption in the network services or;

c) handset compatibility issues that are experienced on the service.

11.4 To the extent that any taxes, duties, levies or other charges may be levied on a prize by a Regulator or the government, the winner/s, acknowledge and accept that they will be liable for these costs and the Promoter/s will not be held liable for these expenses.

11.5 Entry into the Promotion means that you agree and understand that there is no guarantee that you will be receiving any prize.

11.6 The Promoters reserve the right from time to time to vary, change, or terminate the Promotion or the Service as may be deemed necessary at its sole discretion and on fair notice to you. See www.mtn.co.za for rules and updated Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any changes to rules and/or Terms and Conditions are effective from the date that they are published on the website or elsewhere in any media. In the event that you do not consent to these Terms and conditions please do not participation in the Promotion.

11.7 In the event of a dispute, the decision of the Promoters is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.

11.8 The winner/s name, image and/or town/city may be published by the Promoter/s on their respective websites or on other media. The winner will not be paid for such use. The winner may always refuse to grant consent for the use of their name, likeness and/or image for this purpose.

11.9 The Promoter/s are not responsible for:

a) the Promotion or the Service being interrupted and/or failing for any reason or.

b) any interruption in the network Promotions or.

c) handset compatibility issues that are experienced on the service.

11.10 The Promoter/s, their respective directors, affiliates, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers, contractors, subsidiaries and sponsors assume no liability whatsoever for any direct or indirect loss or damage, including but not limited to physical harm or death, howsoever arising from or as a result of a person's participation in the Promotion or through subscribing to the Service and/or these terms and conditions. Furthermore, you will be solely responsible for all products and items used by you. Accordingly, the Promoter/s take no responsibility for any loss or damage, or any MTN airtime associated with the SIM card and/or cellphone number. In the event of theft or loss of your cellphone, airtime and/or SIM card, such items must be replaced at your own cost, and you are obliged to report such loss or theft to the South African Police Services immediately. All persons using the Service or participating in the Promotion hereby expressly indemnify the Promoter/s in this regard and shall hold the Promoters harmless from all and any claims arising from or as a result of the above reasons.

11.11 MTN reserves the right from time to time to terminate, vary or change the Promotion and/or Service as may be deemed necessary at its sole discretion. Any changes to rules and/or Terms and Conditions are effective from the date that they are published on the website or elsewhere in any media. In the event that you do not consent to the Terms and Conditions please do not participate in the Promotion or subscribe to the Service.

11.12 MTN shall be entitled to terminate your subscription to the Service, if you are involved in any fraudulent activity or are suspected of fraudulent activity.
